So for the last 10 Months I’ve been working with a company called Big Switch Networks. What’s Big Switch Networks? Well it’s a Data Center Infrastructure company who prides themselves as one of the original pioneers of SDN.
Their Infrastructure offering is actually Software that is installed and operated on whitebox switching platform offered by HPE, Dell, Accton/Edgecore, and others. Which in essence is the definition of Software Defined Networking (SDN).
Well after this period of time, and working on the Hands on Lab (HOL). I finally got a chance to take Big Switch’s three days course which goes covers their software solution: Big Cloud Fabric (BCF) and Big Monitoring Fabric (BMF).
In my opinion – I enjoyed the course, though there were some things I would have liked to see. I kind of roughed up the instructor in the sense that I had so many questions on the solutions and certain features. Hey, if I’m going to use and sell their offering, that’s the least the instructor can do, right? To my delight – he answered almost all of them. Way to go John!
Just to be fair, I had probably more experience with Big Switch Networks than everyone in the class combined. 🙂
After the course ended, three days of 9am – 6pm, I passed BOTH of their certification exams!
I’m quite proud of this achievement and to add to my CCIE x2 – I’m now a Big Switch Networks Certified Professional for Big Cloud Fabric & Big Monitoring Fabric (BSNCP-BCF & BSNCP-BMF).
